Prospective members to the Kingston Lapidary & Mineral Club (KLMC) are able to attend a total of two monthly meetings prior to their formal application for membership.
January 31, 630-830pm – This meeting will take the form of a Swap and Sale and will be held in the Activity room at the Tett Centre on the first floor. This is actually our February meeting, but is being held a bit earlier due to room availability. We have 8 members participating. Please plan on dropping by to get some great deals.
March 14, 630-8pm – Brad Wilson will be giving a presentation on mineral collecting on Baffin Island. Brad is an excellent speaker and presenter, so mark your calendar for this event.
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) and auction is being planned for Friday April 11, 6-830pm in the Rehearsal room at the Tett Centre. As tenants of the Tett, we are allowed a free rental for our AGM, so this works out very well, providing us with the extra space that we need for the auction. Viewing of auction items will begin at 6pm with the AGM and auction to follow at 630pm. This year, we will be able to take credit/debit for your purchases as well as cash. While only members of the KLMC can make motions and vote at the AGM, our auction is open to members as well as their family and friends and is a great chance to purchase minerals, specimens, jewellery, slabs, and many other items related to our activities. If you have items that you would like to donate, please drop them off during our open shop items or bring them with you. Our auction is one of our major fund raising events for the club. We hope to see everyone in attendance.
