With the exception of a few evenings, this will be a separate event from the normal general meeting held the second Friday of the month. Sample topics and activities are mineral identification, creating your own collection, fossils, and hands on activities to create jewellery, gem trees etc. Details are still being worked out. The first set of dates are
Friday Oct 13, 715-845pm, learn mineral identification from Steve Watts and Ted Hamilton
FridayJanuary19 at Miller Hall, 630-730pm, learn all about fossils with Mark Badham, the museum’s curator and geologist
All children must have a membership to the club for insurance purposes. Family memberships cost $25. We will be charging a fee of $30 for the program, to cover the cost of materials. The children can expect to take home those projects they work on at the club
Enrollment in the program will be limited to 8 children, with one - two adult instructors. Parents or guardians can drop off their children or stay and join in the fun.
We will be accepting children from the ages of 8-12 years of age. Enrollments will be accepted until the course is full. Since the program will not change much from year to year, each child should only attend once.
